Rough River Lake is a 5,100-acre Army Corps of Engineers reservoir in north-central Kentucky — clean water, easy fishing, and a pace that hasn't changed much in fifty years. 2199 Bluebird sits on a small cove with no through-boat traffic, which means swimming off the dock and off the back of the boat the way it should be: calm, safe, and yours.
And here's the bonus: the two best destinations on the lake are reachable from your slip or your driveway. Nick's Boat Dock — the area's full-service marina with gas, supplies, rentals, and the on-site Sometimes Grill — is a quick ride either way. So is the Falls of Rough Resort, home to Lafayette Golf Club. Pull up by boat for lunch, hit a round in the afternoon, run home for sunset.
*Dock transfer is subject to approval by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, which manages Rough River Lake. Standard process for all docks on Corps-managed waters.
